Benefits of reuse

a boy and his new bicycle That bike that you bought and never used deserves a life beyond your garage. And don't ditch your old sofa just because you don't like it anymore; far better that you pass on your unwanted items to others. Reuse is about preventing stuff from going to landfill, and consuming less new stuff and buying second-hand instead whether you're looking for something chic or unique, or you need to furnish your home on a budget.

Scotland has 600 charity shops that raise over £9 million for charitable causes every year, and 80 community based reuse organisations that help around 100,000 people every year by uplifting unwanted household items and passing them onto those in need. The reuse sector also provides 12,000 volunteering and 1,000 training placements each year.
